The Problem We Solve

Solving Deployment Bottlenecks in C&I Energy Storage

Buyers comparing C&I storage usually hit the same wall — spec sheets that don't translate to the site. The Aleo-Smart platform is engineered around the failures that stall real projects:

✓

Oversized, over-priced quotes. Cabinets sized for data-center loads pushed onto a farm or factory with 400 kWh of night-time demand. You pay for kWh you never cycle.

✓

Controller lock-in on expansion. Adding a second cabinet means a new controller, new firmware, re-commissioning. Aleo-Smart cabinets parallel onto one AMS core — no controller replacement.

✓

Thermal fade in hot climates. Air-cooled racks lose capacity and cycle life above 35 °C ambient. Liquid cooling holds cell temperature in band — critical for South Africa, MEA and LatAm sites.

✓

Utility interconnection delays. Split architecture (separate PCS + BMS + EMS from three vendors) triggers months of integration testing. Aleo-Smart ships as one FAT-tested unit.

✓

No local service response. A cabinet down for six weeks waiting for an overseas technician. ALEO POWER keeps remote engineering on 24/7 and trains your own operators at commissioning.

✓

Safety documentation gaps. Insurers and fire departments now ask for IEC 62619 / UN 38.3 evidence. The full documentation set ships with each unit — not on request.

Engineering Note — kW vs kWh on a storage cabinet. kWh is how much energy the cabinet holds; kW is how fast it can deliver it. A 522 kWh / 125 kW cabinet can cover a 900 kWh/day load through the night, but cannot start a 250 kW pump motor alone. During quotation, our engineers match both numbers against your 15-minute interval load data — sizing on kWh alone is the most common cause of buyer's remorse in this category.

Aleo-Smart vs Traditional Diesel & Lead-Acid Backup

Buyers searching for "industrial backup power" usually end up comparing against diesel gensets or legacy lead-acid banks — both carry hidden costs that never appear on the purchase invoice. Figures below reflect typical industry-documented ranges for each option.

Field Results

Customer Results — From Pilot to Full Production

C&I storage delivers double-digit IRR when sized to the interval data — not to a brochure. Three patterns repeat across our installed base:

Pattern 1

Pilot → AP-522 cabinet (typical)

A Western Cape fruit packer ran one 522 kWh cabinet against its 620 kWh/day load for a full season before committing to a cluster.

−38% evening grid purchases vs prior year

Payback observed inside the pilot season; second cabinet ordered at commissioning.

Pattern 2

Expansion → 2.1 MWh cluster (typical)

A Gauteng fabrication plant paralleled four cabinets on one AMS core 14 months after its pilot — no controller or firmware changes.

4 cabinets one AMS · commissioned in 4 days

Peak-shaving plus outage ride-through for the whole night shift.

Pattern 3

Diesel displacement (typical)

A Limpopo lodge replaced 10 h/day of genset runtime with a 522 kWh cabinet + 260 kWp PV, keeping the genset as seasonal backup only.

−72% annual diesel spend

Genset runtime fell from 3,650 h to under 900 h per year.

Industry-wide C&I storage ROI pattern. Automation and storage studies for commercial & industrial sites report typical payback of 3–6 years in markets with load-shedding or time-of-use tariffs, driven by three compounding sources: diesel displacement, peak-shaving under demand charges, and avoided production losses during outages. These are industry-wide patterns, not ALEO POWER guarantees — during quotation, your sales engineer builds a sized ROI worksheet from your interval data, tariff schedule and fuel invoices. The number your CFO needs is the one matched to your site, not the industry average.

Procurement Guide

Procurement Guide — Pricing · Lead Time · Installation

Aleo-Smart is quoted as a configured industrial system, not a catalogue price — standard practice at this equipment class. Every factor below is itemized line-by-line in the quotation so your finance team can compare on total cost of ownership.

Pricing Factors

Final price reflects cabinet family (AP-520/522/523 or SL-EU), certification scope, grid-code configuration, documentation scope, and any upstream PV or downstream load integration.

Indicative Lead Time

35 days average from signed contract to factory acceptance test (FAT). Sea freight and on-site commissioning are scheduled separately by destination.

Minimum Order

One cabinet. There is no batching requirement — a single AP-263/260/262 SL-EU ships with the same FAT documentation and commissioning support as a multi-megawatt cluster.

Installation

Positioned on a level pad, connected to AC distribution and (optionally) PV / genset. Typical on-site work is 2–4 days; commissioning takes the AMS from first power to signed acceptance protocol.

Operator Training

Two-track training — operations and preventive maintenance — delivered during the commissioning visit. Your own staff leave able to run and first-line-diagnose the system.

Warranty & Support

5-year standard warranty from FAT, lifetime remote engineering support (email / phone / video), and a recommended spare-parts list supplied at delivery so critical items stay local to your facility.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to the questions procurement teams actually ask — capacity, cost, lead time, compatibility and support.

What's the difference between Aleo-Smart C&I cabinets and residential or containerized utility storage?+

Residential systems top out around 20 kWh and lack the PCS power for industrial motors. Utility containers start around 1 MWh and assume a substation-grade installation crew. Aleo-Smart occupies the middle: 261–523 kWh per cabinet, industrial power electronics, but installable by a local electrical contractor in days. Same search term, different equipment family — the comparison only makes sense within the C&I tier.

What capacity do I need for my site?+

Size from your 15-minute interval data, not your monthly bill. As a rule of thumb, nightly consumption plus a 20% reserve selects the cabinet; a 400–900 kWh/day site lands on the AP-520/522/523, while a 200–450 kWh/day site is covered by the 261 kWh SL-EU. Our sizing helper and engineers verify both kWh and kW against your largest motor starts.

How much does an Aleo-Smart system cost?+

There is no fixed catalogue price — it is quoted as a configured system. Final pricing reflects cabinet family, PCS rating, certification scope, grid-code configuration, documentation scope and integration work. Each factor is itemized in the quotation, and a sized TCO worksheet ships with it so you can compare on total cost of ownership rather than unit price.

What's the lead time from order to commissioning?+

Typical lead time from signed contract to factory acceptance test is 35 days — materially faster than the 16–32 week range common for full-custom industrial equipment. Sea freight and on-site installation (2–4 days, commissioning included) are scheduled separately by destination.

Can the cabinet work with my existing diesel genset or solar array?+

Yes — hybrid-ready is standard. The AMS core manages genset start/stop and PV charge natively; no third-party controller is required. The AP-520/522/523 family works with all major inverter brands including Growatt, Deye, Solis, GoodWe, Victron and SMA.

What certifications and documentation come with the system?+

Systems are engineered to IEC 62619, UN 38.3, IEC/EN 62477-1, IEC 62116/62177 and IEC 61000-6-2/-4. The SL-EU family adds the full grid-code set: VDE-AR-N 4105, CEI 0-21/-16, G99, C33/C11, NC RfG, EN 50449, NRS 097 and UNE 217001/2. Certificate numbers arrive in the procurement package for your audit file.

What after-sales support does ALEO POWER provide globally?+

Standard package: 5-year warranty on the system from FAT, lifetime remote engineering support (email, phone, video), spare-parts recommendations supplied at delivery, and two-track operator training during commissioning. For multi-site deployments, we support spare-parts pooling and shared engineering response.
